Magdalena Island Penguins
Magdalena Island is home to more than 120,000 Magellanic penguin breeding pairs one of the largest colonies in the world. Declared a Natural Monument, it is accessed by navigation through the Strait of Magellan. Between October and March, penguins are ashore incubating eggs or raising chicks.
Operational note
- Limited season: October to March. Outside season the island is closed to visitors.
